By accessing or using TalkPal ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TalkPal is an AI-powered language learning platform that allows users to practice conversations with AI characters in various languages. The Service includes text-based and voice-based conversation features, vocabulary tracking, and related learning tools.

3. User Accounts

• You must sign in with a valid Google account to use the Service.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under it.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service beyond its intended use.
• Generate or distribute harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content through the Service.

5. Membership & Payments

• TalkPal offers both free and paid (Pro) membership tiers.
• Free tier users have access to core features with usage limits.
• Pro memberships are billed on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time, and access will continue until the end of the billing period.
• We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable advance notice. Existing subscriptions will be honored at their current rate until renewal.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service -- including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software -- are owned by TalkPal and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

7. AI-Generated Content

Conversations and content generated by the AI are for educational purposes only. TalkPal does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated responses. The Service should not be relied upon for professional translation, legal, medical, or other specialized advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TalkPal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may also delete your account at any time from the Settings page.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the Service or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
